Mattia Cazzola (MAT©)
Mattia works mainly in the areas of fashion, lifestyle, and portrait photography. However, his experience covers a wide range of styles and he is always open to try new styles and experiences. He executes photographs on commission and collaborates with magazines, brands, galleries, and individuals. He describes his photography style as "punk and amateur". He's had many different opportunities showing his works in galleries and events around Italy and London. In 2015, Mattia wanted to expand and start working internationally, so he moved to the United States. He started his experience from New York City, and now is based in Los Angeles.
Since birth, Mattia has always been interested in photography and drawing. For high school, he attended the best arts school in Vicenza, Italy. In 2011, he started studying at the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice, specializing in New Technologies for the Fine Arts (Photography, Graphic Design and Videography). In July 2015, he studied Fashion Photography at The Institute of European Design (Milan) under the instruction of the famous international photographer Stefano Babic.
Mattia has always been passionate about painting, punk-rock music and especially Pop Art. In fact, his first artistic influences were Andy Warhol and the Dadaism movement. He loves fashion and lifestyle photography shot in an edgy, raw style. His favorite artists are Terry Richardson, Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton, Albert Watson, Glen Luchford, Ren Hang, Nan Goldin, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Stefan Sagmeister.
